Updates; Regarding Commissions

March 23, 2015

Hi all,

Lately I’ve felt like I haven’t been working to the standard I used to. While my compositions are more polished and more mature theoretically than before, I’ve completed virtually nothing on my own time (apart from, of course, the album I completed in December), and this is because I’ve been swamped with commissions. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But now I find myself working on commissions every time I sit down to write, and since these are mostly for visual novels it’s more of the same. I don’t know how much longer I can stay sane writing the same song I’ve been writing for two years, so I’ve decided to take a break, indefinitely, from commissions. I will of course finish the commissions I’m working on now (Driftwood, Bells, etc.), but I’m going to stop accepting new commissions. Once I feel up to it again I’ll post again to let you know.

Bad news aside, I plan to focus on creating content more frequently like I used to (before I started taking commissions I’d post a new track about once a week, and in some cases more frequently). I’d also like to clean up my Youtube channel, since there are a lot of older tracks on there I’m not particularly proud of. I also plan on mirroring my tracks on Soundcloud, which is of course a more appropriate platform for music. I don’t really have a time frame for these changes but I’ll keep you posted.

I’ve also started work on a small EP, a collection of tracks I’ve taken from my notebook and polished. I’ve recorded three so far and plan to do maybe another three or four. It’s going to be another solo piano release, for no reason other than that’s what I’d been writing in my notebook at the time. More info on that in the coming weeks.

Again like always, feel free to leave a comment or contact me
with your thoughts.
